Weekend

Miranda.

On Saturday morning I went to the monthly AARP meeting and lunch.   I caught up with my cockney friend Phyllis who welcomed me back.  Said she had been thinking of me eating lovely English food; roast beef and Yorkshires, steak and kidney pie, sausage and mash, fish and chips.  I suddenly realised I hadn't thought about it, I tried to remember what I'd eaten when I was out and couldn't, apart from the duck and the lamb I'd had in Seaford. I did have some fish and chips though that Tim picked up one evening.

The business part of the AARP meeting is usually about entitlements for seniors, but I'm not entitled to anything anyway so that mostly goes over my head.

I did enjoy the music group which gave an entertainment afterwards.  I've seen them before and they are a group of two extremely talented teenage lads, their sister who is 12, and their grandfather who plays the guitar.  The boys play the guitar, mandolin, banjo, saxophone, piano.  As I said - they are very gifted.

Today, Sunday, I went to Larry's non denominational church.  Rosalyn went there too, this was her last Sunday off before Emmanuel gets back to normal next week and she is playing the organ.   During the summer Emmanuel has only had music on alternate Sundays, so she has been round visiting other churches.  She seemed to enjoy the service, more than I thought she might have done, and the sermon was very good.

Spent the rest of the day knitting and watching the news in Libya.
