This morning I went to the Adult Sunday School then was reading the prayers at Emmanuel. Afterwards I went on to the Methodist church where Cecil and Louise had invited me to lunch. I arrived at the end of their Pet Blessing service - ours at Emmanuel is on the 14th October.
Two people who were busy gave me their dogs to hold.
This Tarka lookalike is called Boo. As in "me, you and our dog Boo" it must be an American thing, I haven't heard of it.
I don't know if it is the circles I run around in, but I don't seem to meet many 'normal' dogs born into good homes. Most of them like the black and white one in the two pictures above are picked up off the streets, homeless and mangy. This black and white one was so unrecognisable and mangy its owner thought it was a possum and nearly shot it. Sharon's two dogs, and the three next door, they were all rescued from a life on the streets. It is not just the homeless humans who are a problem here.
The rain stopped this afternoon and the sun came out. This is the week ahead.
I was surprised to hear a temperature of 73 described as 'cool' . I used to think that anything over 70 was a heatwave.
