Thursday 13th September

Someone said yesterday that it was going to be the last hot day and it was certainly a lot cooler today, and we had some heavy, drenching rain.

There are a lot of things Mark put in the house when he re-modelled it which I appreciate, but one thing has always bugged me.  The ceiling fan in the spare room (which Bubbles has now decided is her bedroom, that's where she takes herself off to when it is bedtime).   The fan looked very, very grimy, but I couldn't get up there to clean it.    To cut a long story short Sharon came by and it wasn't grimy at all, it was wood effect with a white edge, but she painted it all white for me.  She  is quite tall and not scared of getting on a step ladder like I am.  Bless her.

And she lent me some cutters so while she was painting I cut back the crape myrtle (I think it is crape myrtle) which brushed against the car when I parked it behind the house.
I thought it had died, but it sprang back to life when we had some rain.
Today, Thursday, I went to Kiwanis.   The speaker was the Republican candidate for the Oklahoma State Legislature.

Afterwards I put my little pieces of needlework into frames, which was quite time consuming.  I buy all the frames from the dollar store.    I did get two nice ones from somewhere else though for precious grand daughters photos.

Maine is the northernmost and easternmost part of New England, I believe it is very pretty, that is why it is called Vacationland.  It does get cold there in the winter, and although the heat can be trying in Oklahoma after several months, I think I prefer it to the predominantly cold states.
