MONDAY - 60th Anniversary of the Queen's Accession.

I'd forgotten it was the anniversary of the Queen's Accession, it was Fr Clark who reads all the English and Canadian press online who e-mailed and reminded me. In the past year she overtook George III who reigned 59 years and 96 days - and she has 3 more years and 216 days to overtake Queen Victoria as the longest serving monarch.

I expect it has been a big deal at home with lots of celebrations and press coverage?

I went to the Senior Centre this morning for a foot soak and mini pedicure, which was quite nice.  One of the nursing agencies in town are going to do them free on the first Monday of the month, as a means of publicising their agency and services.

Afterwards I was shopping in Walmart and the Dollar Store.  Bought a proper deep mixing bowl, I decided I needed that when I sent sugar and cocoa flying all over the kitchen a couple of weeks ago.

This evening I went to the movies with Pattisue, we saw George Clooney in The Descendents, it was very good, with a straightforward easy-to-understand story line I could grasp.   It takes place in Hawaii.

Afterwards I introduced her to the new yoghourt bar in town, the Cherry Berry.

This is where you select the yoghourt of choice.  I had a straightforward strawberry yoghourt, topped with chopped strawberries, raspberries, blue berries and whipped cream.  A lot of people though have lots of toppings and fruits, but that just confuses my palate.

These are all the toppings which I bypassed.  Near the check out, which I didn't photograph, are all the dishes of fresh fruits.
Pattisue is sitting on the left of the picture.
