I didn't know Bubbles was a Whitney Houston fan until she took a front row seat to watch her funeral. She didn't sit through all four hours of it though, she took herself off to her tent when she'd had enough. I just muted the remote when the choir got too frenzied, leaping about, and the preacher started pulling out his big white handkerchief - the size of a small tablecloth, they all have them - to mop his eyes. I'm not criticising, God love 'em, that's just what the Black Baptist Church is like.
Last night I went to a cheese and wine reception at the Museum and Art Gallery on St Gregory's campus. They have a new Exhibition, it is displaying Persian rugs, and we had a lecture from an expert on them. I meant to go back today to take one or two photos of those that made an impression on me, but I will go tomorrow.
This afternoon I met Sharon at the downtown cinema with another friend of hers, and we saw The Muppets. The film finished at 6.30 and I invited them back to my place for some apple crumble I'd put in the oven before going out (my toaster oven turns itself off). Sharon had arranged to meet another friend at 7.20 to see Sherlock Holmes, also at the downtown cinema. I don't think I could sit through two films in one afternoon/evening, even if I wanted to see Sherlock Holmes, but a little intermission at my house worked out well as I live downtown and am only five minutes from the cinema.
