Yesterday, Friday, I saw the Iron Lady again, this time with Bruce and Rosalyn. As I have difficulty concentrating on anything I need to see a film twice, by the second showing I have usually 'got it'. And I did like it much more the second time around.
After the film last night they introduced me to a new ice cream parlour in Shawnee, like Pink Swirls it has frozen yoghourt but I think I prefer the ambience of Pink Swirls.
The Republican Nomination continues to entertain me. Mitt Romney has a history of making gaffes which his opponents are seizing upon with glee. His latest is a statement that has been replayed over and over, that "he is not concerned about the poor, they have their safety nets and if they are broken he will fix them". His opponents fell on "I am not concerned about the poor" with glee. Newt Gingrich self righteously labouring the point that he is concerned about ALL Americans.
This evening, Saturday, I watched a DVD at Bruce and Rosalyn's. Burt Reynolds and Dolly Parton in The Greatest Little Whorehouse in Texas. They had another guest; she had been at school with Bruce and has just retired from the University of Tulsa and come back to Shawnee. She was very nice and it was a pleasant evening.
