I went out early to shovel a bit more snow from around my car, I wanted to sure I would get back in the drive alright. The drive down my road was a bit hair raising, I was sliding around all over the place, but once I got to the end of it I was on the main roads and it was fine. The temperature during the day has been in the 40s so the snow was gradually melting. By the time I got back from Rosalyn and Barbara's Nutrition Class this afternoon my road was quite navigable.
I took this yesterday when I called in at a supermarket, it is a strip mall, and it is what all the parking lots and roads are looking like. Slushy puddles and mounds of snow.
A trip down memory lane.......Now we are all, dear readers, of a certain age, who amongst us doesn't remember The Waltons? 'Night John Boy, 'night Elizabeth, 'night Grandpa..............It originally aired over here in 1972 and it must have been about that time we were watching it in England. All the actors got together and were reminiscing and I took a few photos. I came on the programme accidentally as I was scrolling through the Guide and John Boy was talking, but he wasn't with the rest of the group who were reunited.
I hardly recognised the adult characters. I think Elizabeth was the only one recognisable as the child she was.
This is the mother, Olivia, and I didn't even recognise her when I knew who she was.
This is Ralph Waite who played Daddy. He said he was in his early forties when the series started and he was wild and irresponsible, but playing the part of a good man and a good father changed him into the character he was portraying.
This is Mary Ellen, whose husband died in Pearl Harbour.Jason
This is Jim Bob - I think
And this is Ben - another one I didn't recognise even when I knew who he was.
I think Erin was there but I didn't get a picture of her. The writer, Earl Hammer Junior who is now 87, was also there.
