It hasn't snowed any more but still looks white and frozen outside, so I am still hunkered down watching live reports of the news from Cairo, and crocheting round the edge of the finished afghan.
Pattisue said we were not expected at the hospital tomorrow, so people aren't really moving around unless they need to.
There were human footprints round my house in the snow, I learned it was my neighbour scooping up her cats which were seeking asylum on my porch. Also one of her cats had to be dragged out from underneath her house. If it is more comfortable underneath her house than inside I'm not surprised I keep getting these desperate asylum seekers.
I've had a minor plumbing problem. The kitchen sink is on the north side of the house, and the cold water pipe froze. I was anxious in case the pipe burst, that would definitely be a tension headache too many. But I opened the doors of the cupboard under the sink and the warmth of the house seems to have thawed it. I was filling my kettle with the filtered water from the door of the fridge, I don't know how that fits into the kitchen plumbing.
Although the Middle East dominates the news there was another item grabbing attention. Someone caught on video a turkey chasing after a mail van, it kept taking flying leaps at the driver, it was actually quite hilarious.
Bubbles is a very curious cat and she had taken to trying to explore behind the television, so I've had to block her off with pillows.
