I haven't had a very good week, as well as a couple of setbacks I have been feeling rather down, and things did not get better today.
I went to the hospital this morning and my foot was quite painful by the time I had gone round two floors. I stopped off at the Senior Centre on the way home and was hanging out with Louise for a while. When I was driving away I hit a kerb and my tyre blew out.
I didn't have my phone with me (mental note: don't ever leave the house again without it) and walked back to the Senior Centre. I called Terry and he sent a tow truck which took the car and me back to his place. He put the car up on a ramp but doesn't think it is damaged underneath. The tyre supplier won't have a new tyre in until Monday but Terry rummaged around and found one which will be alright for the weekend and put that on.
I asked why he couldn't put the spare tyre on, but spare tyres here are called donuts and they are just for emergency use, one can't drive on them for a weekend. Hence the need for another tyre.
When I did the Senior Driving Course recently we were told of the things we need to consider when deciding whether or not to continue driving, and hitting kerbs was one of them. Which is something else making me anxious.
Anyway, what I am getting round to saying is that as I am not feeling 100% I am going to suspend the blog for a couple of days and will be back when I am better, and in writing mode.
