We had a chilly couple of days lately but the weather is back to the 60s, warm and pleasant.
I invited Sharon to the Red Lobster for lunch, using a gift card David and Janie kindly sent me for Christmas. It was nice to sit down with Sharon and catch up, we seem lately to have just seen each other in passing, heading off in different directions.
The Red Lobster is one of my favourite eating places, a little more expensive than most of them in Shawnee.
And this is what I had.......
...........and it was very nice. We each chose a dessert to go. The entree courses here are such large helpings one can't manage the dessert straight afterwards.
Back to licence plates...
The Delaware signed the first treaty with the new United States in 1778 and in 1787 became the first state to ratify the United States Constitution. Before that it was the only colony claimed by Sweden, Holland and England.
The Indians and the state were both named after the Delaware River, and the river got its name from Lord de la Warr, the first governor of Virginia. I wonder if he had anything to do with the de la Warr Pavilion in Bexhill? Perhaps he originally came from Bexhill.
The Delaware came originally from the east coast but ended up, as so many have, in Oklahoma. There is so much Native American culture in Oklahoma it can be a bit overwhelming trying to look at it all. Their headquarters are in Anadarko, OK, which is about two hours from here, and probably why I don't see more of their licence plates.
