Monday isn't an eventful day, I was just running round town this morning on my errands.
This evening when I rang to see how Pattisue was she asked if I'd eaten, she felt like going out somewhere for a meal. At first she thought she'd like the China Buffet, we haven't been there since she has been so ill, but one needs quite a good appetite to do justice to a meal there, as it is a buffet one can't take leftovers home like we do everywhere else.
Then she decided on a pizza place. I asked for the smallest pizza they had, and this was it.
It was very nice but I brought half of it home.
I have been wanting to see The Iron Lady and decided as I was out and about I would go on and see it this evening. Pattisue couldn't come with me as she had to pick her grandson up from school, he goes from 3 until 8.30.
The film was very good, better than I expected it to be. It was all from the perspective of Margaret Thatcher as she is now, very old with the onset of Alzheimer's, and punctuated with flashbacks to her time in office. We saw the key events - the bombing of the Grand Hotel, Airey Neave's assassination, the Falklands War, the battles with the Unions, the end of her career as Prime Minister when she was in Paris with other leaders overseeing the end of the Cold War. I remembered the newsreels from that time, the European ministers coming up and talking to her quietly, presumably commiserating because they knew what was going on in London.
I do recommend you go and see it if you get the chance.
