4th in Lent

For some reason I haven't fathomed the Episcopal Church feels the need half way through Lent to lighten up, so they bring out the pretty pink vestments.
Tim Sean wearing his deacon's stole for the first time.  Talking to the children before they went off to their Sunday school.
Fr Tom, a retired priest who fills in when there isn't another ordained clergy around.   The new rector will be installed next Sunday.  In England that would be a formal occasion carried out by the bishop, but I haven't heard that the bishop is coming next Sunday.

I sat in church reflecting on the fact that as it is the 4th in Lent it would be Mothers Day in England, and I wondered if the daffodils were out for the children to present posies to their mothers?   Or maybe they have come and gone?  If there aren't any daffodils the posies have to be made up of something else, but it is easier to go out and pick daffodils.

I spent the afternoon reading, and this evening went to the service at University Baptist where they have just had a new pastor.  Afterwards Pattisue and I had a pink swirl.

And that has been my day.
