MONDAY 19th March

All the prayers in churches across Oklahoma yesterday for rain have certainly be answered today.   It was TORRENTIAL, on and off all day, interspersed with loud claps of thunder which sent Bubbles running for cover in what she has decided is her shelter, in my closet.  I put a blanket on the floor for her, and brought her food, and went and stroked her whenever the thunder clapped loudly.

It is now Tuesday morning and still raining, but I don't think it is so monsoon like, it's rubbish day and I managed to get my wheelie bin to the curb and picked up yesterday's damp mail from the box.

Do you ever see something in the news and wish you hadn't?   I saw a report on filler that is put in ground beef and is called 'pink slime' .  It's revolting, almost enough to make me a vegetarian, but I don't think I am quite ready for Rosalyn to embrace me into the vegan fold. She has already got the Diabetic Vegetarian Diet all lined for me.

Someone told me where to go to get ground beef without pink slime.   I have all the ingredients but the beef for a nice shepherds pie.  Sometimes - most times - I just can't be bothered to cook and trot off to the Golden Corral for a takeout.  But at the moment I am in cooking mode.

Well, I think I will post this and get on with my day.
