MONDAY 24 October

I took these photos yesterday, Sunday, afternoon when I went for a walk round the Veterans Park.

This morning at the YMCA instead of water resistance walking I went round the upstairs track.  I wanted to see how accurate my pedometer was.   It isn't quite accurate; a mile round the track was registering 079.something on the pedometer.  I'll ask Millie about it tomorrow when I see her at the Senior Centre.

I wished that last week I'd bought the book on Presidents and their Hymns; I'd been asked if I'd contribute something at the Tuesday gospel singing like I used to, and I thought that would be a very good resource.  I wouldn't need to worry about surfing the internet for the next 43 or so weeks.  Anyway, last night I went to the evening service at University Baptist and someone said there would be some copies of the book in the OBU bookshop.  Pattisue drew me a little map of the campus showing where the bookshop was and I called in this morning.   It was a nice place, it also had a nice cafeteria and a big lounge area.  I had a cup of English Breakfast tea, with whole milk (that's a rarity, I usually have to carry my own around with me) and a scone.   And my little talk for tomorrow on  Richard Nixon and his "He Will Hold me Fast" all done.

It is not a hymn I have ever heard of, I am curious to know if anyone else there knows it.

The joys of growing old........arthritis is setting in in my hands.  I am alternating knitting and crochet, but it is a bit painful when my hand seizes up.  I looked out a piece of needlework because that is something very light I could just hold in my left hand, which seems to be the most affected.

I have also suspected for a long time, years in fact, that I suffer from ADHD.  Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, and that is something I am looking into more closely, I certainly seem to have a lot of the symptoms.

I was on the phone and had to rush into the other room to get something, and I nearly fell over Bubbles.  I think the poor dear thought I was kicking her out of the way; for a while she kept running away from me, I felt ever so guilty.  But I have added 'Beware of the Cat' to my 'How to Avoid a Fall' list.
