WEDNESDAY

I had to take the car to Terry this morning. I'd driven over something in the road which yanked something under the car.  It was a fairly small repair though, he ordered the part on Monday and did it while I waited.

I was doing the dessert this evening at Emmanuel, and called in at the church to cut some melon, as there's more room and the knives are better .    There wasn't anyone around, but there had been, there was quite an appetising smell of something Mexican wafting around.

Then I made some shortcake biscuits and went to the hospital. I don't know how I stumbled on these biscuits, it was part recipe and part me.  Just 6oz of butter, 3 oz of sugar, and 6oz of flour, beaten together with a wooden spoon, roll into little balls, flatten and drop them on the baking sheet.  It has to be butter though; margarine won't work.

Pattisue can't go round visiting at the hospital until her chemotherapy is over.  Larry said she might come in to do our documenting on the computer, which would be helpful, it's not a job I like doing, but I didn't see her this morning.  Larry had gone round one floor then he and I had lunch together, and I did the other floor.

Afterwards it was nearly time to finish the dessert at Emmanuel.
I added some grapes and strawberries to the melon I'd cut earlier, and spread some lemon curd on the shortcake biscuits I'd made.
Before supper, four people under Elizabeth's leadership were carving pumpkins.  I just hung out and watched, I didn't fancy carving myself.  Elizabeth carves lots of pumpkins at Halloween, she puts them on her front porch then children come round for candy.
