I went to the 10.30 at Emmanuel. It's the 5th Sunday in the month so there was lunch afterwards, laid on by the hospitality team. They bring in trays of smoked brisket from a restaurant, which is very tender and very nice. And there is a selection of side dishes and desserts.
I always seem to keep opening the front door, letting Bubbles in and out, and got round to thinking that perhaps I should get a cat flap. I asked a handyman standing in the line for lunch, and he said he could do that, and idly mentioned that racoons might come in as well, but that's not really a problem, they just make the cat's water dirty because they wash their hands in it. Not a problem!!!! I am freaking out at the mere thought of a racoon running round my living room, not to mention the terror it would cause Bubbles. She panics if a gentle human being steps in the house.
A little later in the afternoon I went to the movies with Sharon - who has just got back from her trip to Virginia and not before time, there is heavy snow down the east coast - we went to see Steve Martin in a light comedy, The Big Year, it was very good.
Rosalyn is just back from her trip to Utah. I invited them both to lunch tomorrow.
Everyone suddenly seems to be travelling around. I asked Sharon if she could feed Bubbles while I'm away at Thanksgiving, but she is going to her grandson's wedding in Alaska.
