Woke up about 6 and decided to get to the YMCA by 7 (they open at 5) but I made it by 8. I like to get there early so I can leave my stuff by the side of the pool instead of putting it in a locker. There isn't a charge for the lockers, but they give us padlocks with combinations on them, which I can't be doing with.
The current I was walking against seemed stronger than usual, they must have stepped it up. After a while I swam into the childrens' pool, leading off from the walkway, for a little doggy paddling. I am getting into training to do a length of the pool.
Afterwards I jumped into the hot jacuzzi, which is the best bit. I was thinking this morning that I am very glad the flooring round the pool is all non slip, I think in England it is tiled and would get slippery when wet and I'd definitely be worrying about a broken hip.
Finally, I relax in the lounge area with my thermos. There was a little lad sitting on the next sofa with his grandma, watching cartoons on the television. At first I couldn't figure why they weren't watching them at home; was this a bigger tv? were they homeless? (definitely a possibility round here). Eventually his mother who had been in the gym turned up.
On the way home I stopped off for a cinnamon roll at the Korean cafe, but that was my breakfast/lunch.
This afternoon I finally, finally, finished fiddling with the photos and autumn decorations in the computer room. Some people keep their photos in albums, I stick them all up on the walls.
This evening I went to the movies with Pattisue, and saw 'Courageous'. It was very good, and when we came out bumped into Larry with a group of people from his church.
We then went for a Pink Swirl.
