Was out early this morning for an appointment with the dentist in Norman. It was a bright morning and a lovely drive along Highway 9. It is the most straightforward journey, just straight all the way from Tecumseh, then one right turn and dentist is on the left. I wish, oh I wish, I'd filled up with gas though before leaving Shawnee. Coming back I pulled into a gas station just before my left turn to Tecumseh, then found I had to cross four lanes to make my left turn. Thinks "never mind, I'll just go right here and round the block" Oh!! the chagrin!!! The right turn took me on to the north/south interstate and a nightmare of exits and ramps and I was in Oklahoma City before I could get on to the east/west interstate for Shawnee. So I was later getting to the hospital than I intended to be.
When I got there Kevin, Larry's assistant, was holding the Fort. Larry was at the Childrens' Hospital with his grand daughter. She is ten and has had cancer since she was two, and today she was having surgery.
Pattisue's hands were in a bad way, she had an appointment with the doctor at 1, and is starting chemotherapy tomorrow.
I went to the dentist because I was finally too fed up with the temporary, partial thingy that doesn't fit well, and I decided it was time to have the real deal, a proper denture. They took impressions today, and I have another couple of fittings before it will be ready.
